Levitating Cocktail Machine

The World's first levitating cocktail machine invented by farmers' son Charlie Harry Francis (29) who grew up in Pembrokeshire

The machine uses ultrasonic sound waves to levitate tiny droplets of alcohol which customers lick out of the air, Charlie came up with the ‘Levitron’ in collaboration with Professor Bruce Drinkwater of Bristol University.

Charlie said: “It’s a pretty powerful machine. So far we’ve made a levitating gin and tonic at 70% proof and a levitating Bloody Mary cocktail using vodka at 160% proof which will blow your socks off.”

The pair plan to expand on the levitron to eventually float an entire roast dinner into people’s mouths (amongst other things).

The machine currently costs around £30,000 and will be used at festivals and big parties. They want to get the price down of this as well in future developments.

I know youre all thinking, what does it sound like, well thats the really clever bit. The Levitron uses very powerful sound waves in the ultrasonic spectrum which, crucially, are beyond the range of human hearing

Charlie is the founder of Lick Me I’m Delicious an experimental events company – home of the Nitro Ice Cream Buggy, Edible Mist Machines, the Ice Cream Pottery Gramophone Wheel, Instant Lollipop Maker, Soup Washing Machine and also the world’s first glow in the dark ice-cream which glows as you lick it. They are currently working on developing a Jelly Bean Waterfall, Whirlwind Popcorn Storm and an edible aftershave range.
